The Grierson Trust appoints Channel Four's Amy Flanagan to its board of trustees
London 5th February 2016: The Grierson Trust welcomes Amy Flanagan to its Board of Trustees, following the departure of Emma Cooper.
Chairman of the Board, Lorraine Heggessey says, "I'm delighted to welcome Amy as the newest member to The Grierson Trust Board. We will benefit enormously from her experience, insight and passion for the documentary genre as well as her expertise in developing and nurturing young directors as we continue to expand our annual DocLab education programme and ongoing mentoring work."
Amy Flanagan is the Deputy Head of Documentaries at Channel 4, where she has commissioned a diverse range of television including, 'The Murder Detectives', '24 Hours in Police Custody', 'The Romanians Are Coming', and 'My Son the Jihadi'. Before working in commissioning, she worked on a variety of award-winning factual programmes such as 'Bedlam', the first series of '24 Hours in A&E' and 'Feltham Sings'. She currently runs the Cutting Edge Directors' Scheme at C4.
Amy joins fellow Trustees Liz Brion, Judith Chan, Jo Clinton-Davis, Alex Cooke, Briony Hanson, David DeHaney, Liesel Evans, Chris Harris, Morgan Matthews, Tom McDonald, Sanjay Singhal and Andy Whittaker.
